to produce a sound, to make noise to produce a sound or noise not involving human speech In translating χαλκὸς ἠχῶν it is usually desirable to employ a term which will more specifically refer to the sound of brass cymbals, for example, ‘resounding cymbal’ or ‘clanging cymbal.’
