καταφθείρω occurs in connexion with an accident to a corn-ship, where steps are taken ὅπως ἂν μὴ καταφθείρηται τὰ πλοῖα ἐπὶ τῶν τόπων (P Magd 11*—z.c. 221).. For injury to persons, see P Petr II. 12(2)}3 (B.c. 241) where a petitioner demands investigation into certain charges against her adversary—tva μὴ τὸν πλείω χρόνον καταφθείρωμα[ι : cf. 26. 19(14)?,a petition from a prisoner, συμ]βῆι μοι καταφθαρῆναι ἐν [τῆι φυλακῆ]ι, and PSI IV. 3771 (B.c. 250-49) ἵνα μὴ ἐνταῦθα καταφθείρωμαι.
