καυτηριάζω : (καυτήριον [(cf. kaiw) |] a branding-iron) ; to mark by branding, to brand: (pf. pass. ptep.] κεκαυτηριασμένοι τὴν ἰδίαν συνείδησιν, i. 6. κεκαυτηριασμένην ἔχοντες τὴν ἰδ. συν. (ef. W. 230 (210}] (cf. καταφθείρω), [branded in their own conscience i. 6.1 whose souls are branded with the marks of sin, i. e. who carry about with them the perpetual consciousness of sin, 1 Tim. iv. 2 R G L ed. maj., see καυστηριάζω ; [some (cf. R. V. mrg.) would give it here the sense of seared, cf. Eph. iv. 19]. (In Hippocr. in a medical sense, to cauterize, remove by cautery.)
