κεραμεύς is found passim in the papyri, e.g. P Tebt I. 120 .1 (accounts B.C. 97 or 64) τῶι κεραμῖ εἰς τι̣(μὴν ) πίσσης ( pitch ) ἀργυ (ρίου ) (δραχμαὶ ) ῑβ̄ , ib. II. 414 verso (ii/A.D.) ἀπό [δο ]ς Θεναπύνχι τῇ γυναικὶ τοῦ κεραμέως , and P Oxy XII. 1497 .9 ( c. A.D.279) ὑπὸ Θέωνος κεραμέως . In P Lond 113. 8( b ) .3 (vii/A.D.) (= I. p. 220) we hear of κεραμουργοί .
