κρύπτη (κρυπτή ) in the sense of vault, cellar, as in Luk_11:33 (RV), occurs in PSI V. 547 .18 (iii/B.C.), where in a list of parts of a building (doors, windows etc.) we read of τὴν κρύπτην ὁμοίαν τῶι κονιάματι , the cellar similarly plastered : cf. γρύτης , perhaps a vulgar Egyptian form of κρύπτης , in ib. 546 .3 (iii/B.C.), where see the editor s note.
