κρυφῇ or κρυφῆ (Moulton Gr. ii. p. 84) secretly, as in Eph_5:12 , is found in a iii/B.C. ostrakon-letter published in Archiv vi. p. 220, No. 8 .3 ἀπόστειλον τοῖς ὑπογεγραμμένοις τὰς πεταλίας κρυφῆι καὶ μηθεὶς αἰσθανέσθω . The form κρυβῆ (cf. 2Ki_12:12 ) occurs in a declaration by an egg-seller that he will sell only in the open market P Oxy I. 83 .14 (A.D. 327) ὁμολογῶ . . . μὴ ἐξῖναί μοι εἰς τὸ ὑπιὸν κρυβῆ ἢ καὶ ἐν τῇ ἡμετέρᾳ οἰκίᾳ πωλῖν , I acknowledge that it shall not be lawful for me in the future to sell secretly or in my house (Edd.).
