κρυφῇ or κρυφῆ (Moulton Gy. ii. p. 84) “secretly,” as in Eph 522, is found in a iii/B.C. ostrakon-letter published in Archiv vi. p. 220, No. 83 ἀπόστειλον τοῖς ὑπογεγραμμένοις τὰς πεταλίας κρυφῆι kal μηθεὶς αἰσθανέσθω. The form κρυβῆ (cf. 2 Kings 1212) occurs in a declaration by an egg-seller that he will sell only in the open market—P Oxy I. 83" (A.p. 327) ὁμολογῶ. .. μὴ ἐξῖναί por εἰς τὸ ὑπιὸν κρυβῆ ἢ Kal ἐν τῇ ἡμετέρᾳ οἰκίᾳ πωλῖν, ‘I acknowledge that it shall not be lawful for me in the future to sell secretly or in my house” (Edd.).
