For the epistolary formula ἐχάρην λίαν in 2 Jn *, 3 Jn ὃ, we may compare BGU II. 632!° (ii/a.p.) καὶ ἐπιγνούς σε ἐρρωμένην λίαν ἐχάρην, ‘Sand when I knew that you were in sound health I rejoiced greatly,” P Giss I. 21° (time of Trajan) λίαν ἐχάρην ἀκούσασα ὅτι ἔρρωσαι : see also P Par 423 (B.C. 156) λίαν σοι χάριν μεγάλην ἐσχήκαμεν. [Refs 8th c.BC+]; οὔ τι λ. ποθὴ ἔσσεται not exceedingly,[Refs 8th c.BC+], which always begins the sentence or verse, surely, aye surely, καὶ λ. κεῖνός γε ἐοικότι κεῖται ὀλέθρῳ [Refs 8th c.BC+]
