collection the act of collecting contributions, especially those involving voluntary response In some instances it may be important to translate λογεία as ‘to receive gifts of money,’ but the focus is upon the activity of the person or persons engaged in obtaining the contributions. This may be expressed in some instances as ‘to go from one person to another to receive their contributions.’
