Moulton & Milligan — Vocabulary of the Greek NT
ἀναβοάω [page 30]
In the interview between Marcus Aurelius (?) and a condemned criminal, P Oxy I. 33 iii. 7 (= Chrest. I. p. 35), we read of the latter that ἀνεβόησεν [μ ]έση̣ς Ῥώμης , summoning the Romans to see him led off to death. Beyond this rather outrι document, we have no other evidence of the Κοινή use of the word, an interesting confirmation of WH s rejection of it in Mat_27:46 unless indeed the more literary Matthew was emending Mark ( Mar_15:34 )!
