1 There may be slight nuances of meaning in the various terms in this series, but such distinctions cannot be clearly determined from existing contexts, especially since the prefixes are redundant with other expressions of space. 2 There are probably certain subtle distinctions of meaning in this set. The terms containing the stem μεν- probably focus more upon location, while with the stem δεχ- the focus may be more upon anticipation, but there is no consistent patterning on the basis of this type of distinction. 3 It is possible that διαμένω[c] is somewhat more emphatic in meaning than μένω[c].
