For this poetical word (cf. Lob. Phryn . p. 53) see P Leid W iii. 37 (ii/iii A.D.) (= II. p. 91) τὸ μεσανύκτιον (for acc. cf. Mar_13:35 ), ὥρᾳ πέπτῃ ( l. πέμπῃ ), ὅταν ἡσυχία γένηται , ἀνάψας τὸν βωμὸν κτλ ., and similarly ib. xv. 34 (= p. 135). The form μεσανύκτιον , as in Mk l.c. B, Luk_11:5 D, occurs also in P Oxy XIV. 1768 .6 (iii/A.D.) γ [ρ ]άφω ἐλθὼν εἰς Σχεδίαν τῇ κ̄ᾱ̣ κατὰ τὸ μεσανύκτιον (cf. Act_16:25 ). With the interchange of cases in Mar_13:35 , cf.
