For the epistolary phrase μνείαν ποιεῖσθαι , which is used by Paul in 1Th_1:2 , Rom_1:10 , Eph_1:16 , Phm_1:4 , cf. the letter of Isias to her husband, who was at the time in retreat in the Serapeum at Memphis, P Lond 42 .6 (B.C. 168) (=1. p. 30, Selections , p. 9) οἱ ἐν οἴκωι πάντες <σοῦ διαπαντὸς μνείαν ποιούμενοι >, and especially, in connexion with prayer, as in the Pauline passages, BGU II. 632 .5 (ii/A.D.) μνι̣αν σου ποιούμενος παρὰ τοῖς [ἐν ]θάδε θεοῖς ἐκομισάμην [ἓ ]ν̣ ἐπι [σ ]τόλιον κτλ . and Kaibel 983 .2 ff.
