Chandler § 366) one who has a hoarse, hollow voice, and λάλος), speaking with a harsh or thick voice: Mar_7:32 Tdf. edition 2, Tr text; but the common reading μογιλάλος deserves the preference; cf. Fritzsche at the passage, p. 302f. (Etym. Magn. (under the word βατταρίζειν).) STRONGS NT 3424: μογιλάλοςμογιλάλος (on its accent cf. Tdf. Proleg., p. 101), μογιλάλον (μόγις and λάλος), speaking with difficulty (A. V. having an impediment in his speech): Mar_7:32 (not Tr text). ( Mar_7:32 ), except perhaps LXX Isa_35:6 , is from a ii/A.D. copy of a probably Ptolemaic astrological calendar, P Oxy III. 465 .228 ο ]ὗτος ὁ θεὸς ποιεῖ γῆρας πολὺ . . . . οὗτος μὴ ἔχοντα ὀφθαλμούς , οὗτος ὅμοια κτήνι , οὗτος μογιλάλα , οὗτος κωφά , οὗτος νωδά , this deity causes long old age, and persons with no eyes and like a beast and dumb and deaf and toothless (Edd.) : cf. Vett. Val. p. 73 .12 γίνονται δὲ καὶ μογιλάλοι ἢ καὶ ταῖς ἀκοαῖς παραποδιζόμενοι . With the variant μογγιλάλος in MK l.c. (WLN Δ 28 33 al. ) cf. the word μογγός in P Lond 653 .16 (early iv/A.D.) (= III. p. 241) οὐκ εἰμὶ μογγός , I am not hoarse, and see Moulton, Gr. ii. p. 106.
