Moulton & Milligan — Vocabulary of the Greek NT
παρεισέρχομαι, lit. *‘come in from the side.” The use of the verb in Rom 57° ‘*come in to the side of a state of things already existing” (SH) shows that the idea of stea/th is not necessarily present: cf. Vett. On the other hand with Gal 24 ‘*who sneaked in to spy out our freedom” Burton (7CC ad /.) compares such a passage as Luc. Asin. The corr. double compd. παρεξέρχομαι occurs in the late P Lond τοῦ 517 (vii/a.D.)
