παχύνω, “thicken,” ‘‘fatten,’’ which is used metaphorically in Mt 13), Ac 2857, occurs in a medical prescription, unfortunately very mutilated, P Tebt II. 273%% (ii/iii A.D.) πρὸς πεπᾳχυ[σμέν]ᾳ[. .] . [. The subst. παχύτης is found in Aristeas 93 and πάχος δὲς in 7. 71, and its plur. in PSI VI. 601° (ili/B.c.) τοῖς μεγέθεσι καὶ τοῖς πάχεσιν.
