PSI V. 446 .13 (A.D. 133 7) μήτε πλέοντι μήτε πεζῇ βαδί [ζον ]τ̣ι , and Artem. p. 182 .1 τοῖς διαποροῦσι πότερον πεζῇ ἀπιτέον αὐτοῖς ἢ κατὰ πλοῦν συμβουλεύει πεζῆ . In P Tebt I. 5 .28 (B.C. 118) the word is found with the two meanings on foot and by land, ὁμ ]οίως δὲ καὶ τοὺς πεζῆι ἀ̣[ν ]απορε [υομένους ] ἐκ τῆς πόλεως τὴν [ἄ ]γουσαν πεζὴν ὁδὸν . . ., likewise persons who travel on foot up the country from Alexandria by the land-route which leads . . .
