περισσῶς. For περισσῶς, ‘‘superfluously,” with reference to what precedes, cf. P Amh II. 132? (early ii/a.p.) περισ (ods μοι ἔγραψας περὶ τοῦ μισθοῦ τῶν ἐργατῶν, “it was unnecessary for you to write to me about the wages of the labourers ’’ (Edd.). In P Tebt II. 488 (a.p. 121-2) περισσῶς Kal νοῖν (1. viv) ἐνκαλεῖς the adv. has rather the meaning ‘‘exceedingly,” as in Ac 2611, See further Blass-Debrunner § 60, 3.
