Moulton & Milligan — Vocabulary of the Greek NT
πληροφορία [page 519]
πληροφορία does not occur in classical writers or the LXX, and in the NT appears as a rule to have passed into the meaning full assurance, confidence ( 1Th_1:5 , Col_2:2 , Heb_10:22 ) : cf. Clem. R Cor 42 μετὰ πληροφορίας πνεύματος ἁγίου ἐξῆλθον εὐαγγελιζόμενοι . In Heb_6:11 the meaning is less subjective, fulness ( impletio sive consummatio, Grotius). The only instance of the subst. we can cite from the papyri is P Giss I. 87 .25 τ ]ὴν πληροφο [ρίαν , unfortunately in a very broken context.
