προγίνομαι, confined in the NT to Rom 335, is seen in P Giss I. 504 (A.D. 259) καψά[ρια ποἸλειτικὰ δύο προγε[γονότ]α τῷ μετηλλαχότι [π]ατρί [μον, ‘two dressing-rooms in the town-baths which belonged formerly to my deceased father’”: cf. Syll 279 (= %601)® (B.C. 193) διὰ τὴν προγεγενημένην αὐτῶι δόξαν. In BGU III. 979! (A.D. 160-1) at πρ[ογ]εyovviat is unfortunately followed by an hiatus.
