1 It is also possible to understand χρηματισμός, οῦ as primarily focusing upon the communication rather than the aspect of revelation which makes known information from a divine source. Accordingly, χρηματισμός, οῦ (28.40) and χρηματίζω[a] (28.39) can be regarded as typical instances of semantic overlap between the process of revelation (that is, making known) and communication (Domain 33).

χρηματισμός is commonly used to denote a “ report,’’ as in P Lond 20% (B.c. 162) (=I. p. 9, ΔΖ i. p. 207) ἀξιῶ σε. ἀναλαβόντα τὸν παρὰ Awplwvos χρηματισμὸν ἐπιτελέσαι ἀκολούθως, 26. 1711 (B.C. 162) (=I. p. 10, Ζ7)}Ζ i. p. 209) τὸ ἀντίγραφον σὺν τῶι γεγονότι πρὸς αὐτὴν χρηματισμῶι προσήφαμεν, and 18 ἐπισταλέντος τοῦ καθήκοντος χρηματισμοῦ. In its only NT occurrence, Rom 114, it is used of “ἐᾷ divine response,’’ ‘‘an oracle”: see s.v. χρηματίζω.
