Pelagia-Legenden p. 37° ot ἐπίσκοποι. . . ἠρώτων τὸν κύριον Νόννον εἰπεῖν kal ὠφελῆσαι αὐτούς. According to Field (Mores, p. 21) the meaning “‘ prevail,” which is attached to the verb by AV, RV, in Mt 2774, ~ 9 ὠφέλιμος Jn 1219, seems to require confirmation. assist, am useful” : MGr φελῶ, “1 ὠφελεῖ, ‘it is useful, advantageous.
