to wipe off, to wipe away to wipe off, as a means of getting rid of some adhering substance Since the action of wiping off the dust from one’s feet was a symbolic act of denunciation, it may be necessary in some languages to translate this expression in LUK 10:11 as ‘we wipe off as a way of denouncing you’ or ‘we wipe off as a way of showing how bad you are.’
