to faint to lose one’s consciousness temporarily It is possible that ἀποψύχω in LUK 21:26 refers primarily to a psychological experience rather than a physiological one. Some scholars, however, have interpreted ἀποψύχω in this context as meaning ‘to die.’ For another interpretation of ἀποψύχω in LUK 21:26, see ἀποψύχω[b] 25.293.
