See also P Tebt I. 278° (n.c. 113) aie δέ Tivos ἐπὶ τὸ βέλτιον προσεπινοουμένου, ‘ by the continual invention of further improvements ” (Edd.), and P Oxy VIII. 1148? (a question to the oracle—i/A.p.) ef [? εἰ introducing direct question, as in NT] βέλτειόν ἐστιν κτὰ. A locution with B. may be noted from BGU IV. ro86ii. 2 (a,b. 160 or 183 or 215) τὴν] δὲ πο[λ]ειτίαν ἐπὶ τὸ βέλτιον καὶ εὐτ[υἸχ[έστερον . . .
