Armor of God

10 sermons

The "Armor of God" is a biblical concept that refers to the spiritual protection and empowerment that believers receive from God to withstand the forces of evil and live a victorious Christian life, as described in Ephesians 6:10-18. According to this passage, the armor consists of the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. As Paul writes, "putting on the whole armor of God" enables believers to "stand against the schemes of the devil" (Ephesians 6:11, 6:16), and this spiritual armor is reinforced by the promise that "God works all things together for good" for those who love Him (Romans 8:28). By putting on this armor, Christians can trust in God's power and provision, as expressed in Psalms 23:1, "The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing," and live a life of faith, hope, and victory.
