Discernment in the Church

0 sermons

Discernment in the Church is a crucial aspect of Christian faith, as it enables believers to distinguish between good and evil, truth and falsehood, and to make wise decisions in their spiritual journeys. According to 1 Corinthians 2:14, the natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. As the Bible instructs in Hebrews 5:14, solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil, highlighting the importance of spiritual maturity in exercising discernment. Through prayer and meditation on Scripture, such as Psalms 119:66, which says "teach me knowledge and good judgment, for I trust your commands," Christians can cultivate the discernment necessary to navigate the challenges of faith and to build a strong, vibrant church community.
