Eschatology Studies

3 sermons

Eschatology, the study of last things, delves into the biblical teachings concerning the end times and the ultimate destiny of humanity. Throughout Scripture, we find profound insights into God's plan for creation and redemption, as articulated in passages such as Revelation 21:1-4, where John describes a new heaven and a new earth, signaling the culmination of God's redemptive work. Jesus, in Matthew 24:30-31, speaks of His return in glory, gathering His elect from the four winds, emphasizing the hope and assurance believers have in His second coming. The Apostle Paul further elaborates on the resurrection of the dead in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, assuring the church of the victory over death through Christ. Various interpretations of eschatology, such as posttribulationism and amillennialism, offer different perspectives on the timing and nature of Christ's return and the establishment of His kingdom, as seen in Romans 8:18-25, which speaks of the present suffering contrasted with future glory. Additionally, the concept of overly realized eschatology challenges believers to consider the fullness of Christ's victory over sin and death, as indicated in 1 Corinthians 15:54-57. Engaging with these themes deepens our understanding of God's sovereignty and the hope we have in Christ as we anticipate the fulfillment of His promises.
