Eternal Nature

4 sermons

Eternal nature is a profound theme woven throughout Scripture, revealing the unchanging character of God and His everlasting covenant with humanity. The Bible teaches that God exists outside of time, as expressed in Psalms 90:2, where it is proclaimed, "Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God." This eternal aspect of God assures believers of His constancy and faithfulness, as highlighted in Malachi 3:6, "For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed." Moreover, the eternal nature of God invites us to reflect on our own existence in light of eternity. As Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 4:18, "So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." This perspective encourages Christians to live with purpose and hope, knowing that their lives are part of a grand, eternal narrative. In exploring the eternal nature of God, we are also reminded of the eternal life promised through Jesus Christ, as stated in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Understanding God's eternal nature deepens our appreciation for His love and the salvation offered to us, urging us to share this hope with others.
