Eternal State

2 sermons

The eternal state is a profound aspect of biblical theology, revealing God's ultimate plan for humanity and creation. Scripture teaches that after the final judgment, believers will enter into a new heaven and a new earth, as described in Revelation 21:1-4, where God will dwell among His people, wiping away every tear and abolishing death, mourning, and pain. This consummation of all things is a fulfillment of God's promise, echoing the hope found in Romans 8:18-21, where Paul emphasizes that creation itself eagerly awaits liberation from its bondage to decay. Jesus, in His teachings, assures us of this eternal reward, stating in Matthew 5:12 that the kingdom of heaven belongs to those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake. Furthermore, 2 Peter 3:13 reminds us that we are looking forward to new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness dwells, highlighting the transformative nature of God's redemptive work. The eternal state is not merely an abstract concept but a tangible reality that shapes our present lives and encourages us to live in light of eternity, as we await the glorious return of our Savior.
