Gods Initiative

1 sermons

God's initiative is a profound theme woven throughout Scripture, illustrating His proactive engagement in the lives of humanity. From the very beginning, as seen in Genesis 1:26-27, God created mankind in His own image, establishing a relationship that reflects His desire for communion with us. This divine initiative culminates in the New Testament, where John 3:16 reveals the heart of God, sending His Son to redeem the world. Jesus exemplifies this initiative in His ministry, as recorded in Luke 19:10, where He states, 'For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.' Moreover, God's initiative is evident in the calling of individuals, as seen in the life of Abraham (Genesis 12:1-3), where God’s promise to bless all nations through him underscores His sovereign plan. In Romans 8:28, Paul reassures believers that 'in all things God works for the good of those who love him,' affirming that God's initiative is not only about salvation but also about orchestrating our lives for His glory. Ultimately, God's initiative invites us to respond in faith, as highlighted in Hebrews 11:6, which teaches that 'without faith it is impossible to please God.' Through understanding God's initiative, we are encouraged to trust in His plans and embrace the grace He freely offers.
