Heavenly Service

2 sermons

Heavenly service is a profound theme woven throughout Scripture, illustrating the eternal significance of our earthly actions in light of God's kingdom. In 2 Corinthians 5:10, Paul reminds us that we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, where our deeds—whether good or bad—will be evaluated. This underscores the importance of living a life dedicated to serving others, as Jesus exemplified in Matthew 20:28, where He stated that He came not to be served, but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many. Furthermore, Hebrews 12:1 encourages believers to run with perseverance the race marked out for us, inspired by the great cloud of witnesses who have gone before us, demonstrating that our service today prepares us for a greater role in eternity. In Colossians 3:23-24, we are reminded that whatever we do, we should work at it with all our heart, as working for the Lord, knowing that we will receive an inheritance from Him as a reward. Ultimately, the call to heavenly service is not merely about our actions but about cultivating a heart aligned with God's will, as we look forward to the day when we will hear, 'Well done, good and faithful servant' (Matthew 25:21).
