The biblical concept of power and authority is a pervasive theme that underscores the sovereignty of God and the delegated authority of humanity, as seen in Genesis 1:26-28, where God grants humans dominion over the earth. The Bible also emphasizes the authority of Jesus Christ, who is described as having all authority in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18), and through whom believers can access divine power to overcome the challenges of life (Ephesians 6:10-12). The exercise of power and authority is also a moral and ethical issue, as Christians are called to use their authority to serve others and promote justice, rather than to exploit or oppress (Matthew 20:25-28). Ultimately, the Bible teaches that true power and authority come from God, and that believers must submit to His will and purposes, as expressed in Romans 13:1-2, which instructs believers to submit to governing authorities as a way of honoring God.
