Servanthood Of Christ

1 sermons

Servanthood is a central theme in the ministry of Christ, exemplifying the nature of true leadership and humility. Jesus, the Son of God, did not come to be served but to serve, as articulated in Mark 10:45, where He states, 'For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.' This profound act of servanthood culminated in His sacrificial death on the cross, demonstrating the ultimate expression of love and service to humanity (John 15:13). In Philippians 2:7, Paul emphasizes that Christ 'made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant,' highlighting the importance of humility in our own lives as followers of Christ. Furthermore, in John 13:14-15, Jesus washes His disciples' feet, teaching them that true greatness in the Kingdom of God is found in serving others. As believers, we are called to emulate this model of servanthood, as seen in Revelation 22:3, where it is proclaimed, 'His servants shall serve Him.' Embracing the servanthood of Christ not only transforms our understanding of leadership but also compels us to live out our faith through acts of love and service to those around us.

Robert Hawker preaches about the blessedness of being servants of Christ, who are distinguished from the world by serving Him.
