15 Bible Verses on Attitude

15 verses

A humble and positive mindset is essential for a strong Christian walk, as seen in Philippians 2:5, where believers are encouraged to have the same attitude as Christ. The book of Proverbs notes that a cheerful heart is good medicine, while a crushed spirit can have negative effects, as stated in Proverbs 17:22. To cultivate this mindset, Philippians 4:8 advises focusing on things that are true, noble, and praiseworthy. Additionally, Romans 12:2 teaches the importance of renewing one's mind to conform to God's will, and 1 John 1:9 reminds believers to confess their sins to maintain a clear conscience and a positive attitude.

A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think on these things.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Whatever you do, work at it with your whole being, for the Lord and not for men,
Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and perverse generation, in which you shine as lights in the world
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think on these things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me, put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
Do everything without complaining or arguing,
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you.
And whatever you do, in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
to be renewed in the spirit of your minds;
Therefore, since Christ suffered in His body, arm yourselves with the same resolve, because anyone who has suffered in his body is done with sin.
The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance.
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise, the fruit of lips that confess His name.
