5 Bible Verses on Covenant of Grace

5 verses

Through His covenants, God establishes a loving relationship with humanity, promising to be our God and to bless us. The book of Jeremiah foretells a new covenant that will be written on hearts, not just stone tablets, as seen in Jeremiah 31:31-34. According to Hebrews 9:15 and Hebrews 7:22, Jesus' sacrifice is the guarantee of this better covenant, securing eternal redemption for believers. Galatians 3:8 and 3:17 highlight the continuity between God's ancient promises and the new covenant, demonstrating that the gospel was preached beforehand to Abraham, underscoring God's enduring faithfulness to His people.

Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. It will not be like the covenant I made with their fathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt— a covenant they broke, though I was a husband to them, ” declares the LORD. “But this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the LORD. I will put My law in their minds and inscribe it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they will be My people. No longer will each man teach his neighbor or his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ because they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquities and will remember their sins no more.”
What I mean is this: The law that came 430 years later does not revoke the covenant previously established by God, so as to nullify the promise.
The Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and foretold the gospel to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.”
