In the face of challenges, believers are encouraged to stand firm and persevere. The apostle Paul warns against those who cause divisions, advising believers to watch out for them and avoid them, as seen in Romans 16:17. The New Testament letters, including 2 John and 2 Timothy, emphasize the importance of remaining faithful and steadfast, even when faced with hardship, in order to receive a crown of life, as promised in Revelation 3:11. Scripture also acknowledges that the righteous will face difficulty, but encourages them to trust in God's sovereignty, as expressed in 1 Peter 4:18, and to strive lawfully, as taught in 2 Timothy 2:5.

Now I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who create divisions and obstacles that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Turn away from them.
I am coming soon. Hold fast to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.
Watch yourselves, so that you do not lose what we have worked for, but that you may be fully rewarded.
Likewise, a competitor does not receive the crown unless he competes according to the rules.
And, “If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?”
