The Bible teaches that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to honor God with them. In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, we are reminded of our responsibility to care for our physical bodies, while 1 Samuel 16:7 encourages us to look beyond outward appearance to the beauty within. Struggles with eating and body image are not uncommon, but 1 Corinthians 10:13 assures us that God is faithful to provide a way out of temptation. As we present our bodies as living sacrifices to God, as instructed in Romans 12:1, we can find freedom and self-acceptance, knowing we are fearfully and wonderfully made, as proclaimed in Psalms 139:14.

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God with your body.
But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or height, for I have rejected him; the LORD does not see as man does. For man sees the outward appearance, but the LORD sees the heart.”
No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide an escape, so that you can stand up under it.
Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are Your works, and I know this very well.
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
The LORD your God is among you; He is mighty to save. He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you with His love; He will rejoice over you with singing.”
But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me. That is why, for the sake of Christ, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
