In times of distress, God promises to comfort and heal the emotional wounds of His people. The Psalms, such as Psalms 34, reveal that He is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit, while Psalms 147 reminds us that He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Jesus Himself offers peace that surpasses understanding, as seen in John 14, and 1 Peter 5 encourages believers to cast their anxieties on God, who will restore and strengthen them. As Exodus 14 illustrates, God is our helper in times of trouble, fighting on our behalf and bringing peace to our lives.

And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore you, secure you, strengthen you, and establish you.
The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears; He delivers them from all their troubles. The LORD is near to the brokenhearted; He saves the contrite in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him from them all. He protects all his bones; not one of them will be broken.

He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for the sake of His name.
And my God will supply all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man has great power to prevail.
Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him from them all.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope.
