The apostle Paul instructs believers not to be overcome by evil, but to overcome it with good, as seen in Romans. Even in the midst of evil, God's presence and guidance are available, as expressed in Psalms, and believers are called to trust in His sovereignty, leaving vengeance to Him, as Romans also teaches.
