14 Bible Verses on Grieving

14 verses

In times of sorrow, the Bible offers comfort and solace to those who are hurting. The Psalms, such as Psalms 34:18, remind us that God is near to the brokenhearted, and Psalms 147:3 notes that He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Jesus teaches in the Beatitudes, as recorded in Matthew 5:4, that those who mourn are blessed, for they will be comforted. The promise of Revelation 21:4 looks forward to a future where God will wipe away every tear, and even in the midst of pain, Psalms 73:26 affirms that God is our rock and our heart's desire.
