16 Bible Verses on Herbs and Plants

16 verses

In the biblical account of creation, God provided an abundance of herbs and plants for humanity's benefit, granting permission to use them for food and sustenance, as seen in Genesis 9:3 and Genesis 1:29. From the very beginning, plants were a vital part of God's creation, with the earth bringing forth vegetation according to their kinds, as described in Genesis 1:12. The prophetic book of Ezekiel envisions a future where trees and plants will flourish, bearing fruit that will be used for food and healing, as depicted in Ezekiel 47:12. Meanwhile, Isaiah 40:8 reminds us that while grass withers and flowers fade, the word of God endures forever, highlighting the contrast between the fleeting nature of earthly things and the eternal nature of God's Word.

Prepare from these a sacred anointing oil, a fragrant blend, the work of a perfumer; it will be a sacred anointing oil. Use this oil to anoint the Tent of Meeting, the ark of the Testimony, the table and all its utensils, the lampstand and its utensils, the altar of incense, the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and the basin with its stand. You are to consecrate them so that they will be most holy. Whatever touches them shall be holy.
Now the Spirit expressly states that in later times some will abandon the faith to follow deceitful spirits and the teachings of demons, influenced by the hypocrisy of liars, whose consciences are seared with a hot iron. They will prohibit marriage and require abstinence from certain foods that God has created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For every creation of God is good, and nothing that is received with thanksgiving should be rejected,
We remember the fish we ate freely in Egypt, along with the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions, and garlic.
