12 Bible Verses on Ingratitude

12 verses

The Bible warns against the dangers of an unthankful heart, noting that in the last days, people will be characterized by ingratitude, among other sinful attitudes (2 Timothy 3:2). In contrast, believers are called to give thanks in all circumstances, recognizing God's sovereignty and goodness (1 Thessalonians 5:18). The story of the ten lepers in Luke 17:11-19 illustrates the importance of expressing gratitude to God, as only one of the healed men returns to thank Jesus. The scriptures also caution that a lack of gratitude can lead to further sin, as seen in Proverbs 17:13, and instead encourage believers to give thanks always, as in Ephesians 5:20.
