In times of solitude or separation, believers are reminded that they are not alone, for God is near to the brokenhearted. The book of Proverbs cautions against self-sufficiency, warning that one who isolates themselves seeks their own desire. The New Testament encourages community and mutual support, as seen in Hebrews, which urges believers not to forsake gathering together, and 1 Corinthians, which emphasizes the interconnectedness of the body of Christ. Psalms offers comfort to the afflicted, promising that God will deliver and heal those who are crushed in spirit, while 2 Timothy describes the dangers of a self-centered and isolating worldview.

He who isolates himself pursues selfish desires; he rebels against all sound judgment.
Let us not neglect meeting together, as some have made a habit, but let us encourage one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears; He delivers them from all their troubles. The LORD is near to the brokenhearted; He saves the contrite in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him from them all. He protects all his bones; not one of them will be broken.
But understand this: In the last days terrible times will come. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, without love of good, traitorous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. Turn away from such as these!
The body is a unit, though it is composed of many parts. And although its parts are many, they all form one body. So it is with Christ.
But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me.
The LORD God also said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make for him a suitable helper.”
For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free, and we were all given one Spirit to drink.
Go, my people, enter your rooms and shut your doors behind you. Hide yourselves a little while until the wrath has passed.
