The Bible teaches that love and compassion are essential characteristics of God's nature and should be reflected in the lives of His followers. In John 13:34, Jesus commands His disciples to love one another, while 1 Corinthians 13:7 highlights the enduring and selfless nature of love. The Psalms, such as Psalms 103:2-4, express gratitude for God's loving kindness and compassion towards humanity. Additionally, Proverbs 10:9 and Colossians 3:12 emphasize the importance of living with integrity, kindness, and humility, demonstrating a heart of love and compassion towards others.

A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you also must love one another.
It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and do not forget all His kind deeds— He who forgives all your iniquities and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the Pit and crowns you with loving devotion and compassion,
He who walks in integrity walks securely, but he who perverts his ways will be found out.
Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with hearts of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
Finally, all of you, be like-minded and sympathetic, love as brothers, be tenderhearted and humble.
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no account of wrongs.
Fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath; instead, bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
Be kind and tenderhearted to one another, forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave you.
If anyone with earthly possessions sees his brother in need, but withholds his compassion from him, how can the love of God abide in him?
Consider ships as well. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot is inclined. In the same way, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it boasts of great things. Consider how small a spark sets a great forest ablaze. The tongue also is a fire, a world of wickedness among the parts of the body. It pollutes the whole person, sets the course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. With the tongue we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, this should not be! Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? My brothers, can a fig tree grow olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water. Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good conduct, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbor bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast in it or deny the truth. Such wisdom does not come from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every evil practice.
