9 Bible Verses on Marriage in Heaven

9 verses

In the afterlife, earthly relationships will be transformed, and the institution of marriage as we know it will not exist. According to Jesus' teachings in Matthew 22:30 and Luke 20:34-36, those who are resurrected will be like angels, neither marrying nor being given in marriage. The context of this teaching is found in Mark 12:22-25, where Jesus responds to a question about marriage and the resurrection. The apostle Paul also touches on the theme of marriage in Romans 7:2, highlighting its earthly nature and limitations. Ultimately, our heavenly existence will be characterized by a deeper, more profound union with God and His people.

The same thing happened to the second and third brothers, down to the seventh. And last of all, the woman died. In the resurrection, then, whose wife will she be of the seven? For all of them were married to her.” Jesus answered, “You are mistaken because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.
