12 Bible Verses on Nurses

12 verses

Compassionate care for the sick and needy is a vital aspect of Christian service, as seen in the ministry of Jesus and the early church. The apostle Paul urges believers to "practice hospitality" and care for one another, as in Romans 12:13. Jesus sent out His disciples to care for the physical and spiritual needs of others, as recorded in Luke 9:2. Caring for the sick is also emphasized in Matthew 25:35-40, where Jesus teaches that serving others is equivalent to serving Him. This selfless service is empowered by God, as expressed in Philippians 4:13, and is a key part of a life of faith, as seen in the example of King Asa in 2 Chronicles 15:7.

For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink, I was a stranger and you took Me in, I was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you looked after Me, I was in prison and you visited Me.’ Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You something to drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? When did we see You sick or in prison and visit You?’ And the King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.’
