As believers strive to honor God in all aspects of life, setting goals is an important part of faithfulness and stewardship. The book of Proverbs encourages wise planning, noting that diligent effort leads to plenty, while 2 Chronicles records King Asa's experience of blessings following his commitment to seek the Lord. Philippians reminds us to press on toward the goal, forgetting what is behind, and Habakkuk urges writing down visions to guide our steps. By trusting in God's goodness, as Psalms teaches, we can set goals that align with His will and purposes, leading to a life of purpose and fulfillment.

Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize of God’s heavenly calling in Christ Jesus.
Then the LORD answered me: “Write down this vision and clearly inscribe it on tablets, so that a herald may run with it. For the vision awaits an appointed time; it testifies of the end and does not lie. Though it lingers, wait for it, since it will surely come and will not delay.
But as for you, be strong; do not be discouraged, for your work will be rewarded.”

Complete your outdoor work and prepare your field; after that, you may build your house.
Which of you, wishing to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost to see if he has the resources to complete it?
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think on these things.
