7 Bible Verses on Timidity

7 verses

In the face of challenge and uncertainty, believers are encouraged to overcome timidity through the power of God's Spirit. According to 2 Timothy, this Spirit gives us power, love, and self-discipline, rather than a spirit of fear. The apostle John reminds us that perfect love drives out fear, as noted in 1 John, and Romans assures us that we are no longer condemned, freeing us from the grip of anxiety. As Jesus taught in John, His peace is available to calm our hearts and give us courage, and Revelation shows that even in the midst of great struggle, believers can overcome through the blood of the Lamb and their own testimony.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. The one who fears has not been perfected in love.
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
They have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. And they did not love their lives so as to shy away from death.
Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid.
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.
I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.
