In the eyes of God, a lack of faith is a significant obstacle to a deep and meaningful relationship with Him. According to Matthew 17:20, even a small amount of faith can accomplish great things, while unbelief can hinder spiritual growth and effectiveness. As noted in Hebrews 11:6, it is impossible to please God without faith, and Ephesians 2:8 reminds us that faith itself is a gift from God. The desperate cry of the father in Mark 9:24, "I believe, help my unbelief," highlights the struggle with doubt and the need for God's help to overcome it.

For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not from the Father but from the world. The world is passing away, along with its desires; but whoever does the will of God remains forever.

And this is the verdict: The Light has come into the world, but men loved the darkness rather than the Light because their deeds were evil.
